Power of Attorney

A power of attorney is a legal document where one person (the principal) authorizes another person (the agent) to act on their behalf. These are low-cost options that give your loved ones the ability to make important decisions for you when you are unable to. There are financial and healthcare powers of attorney. Financial Power of Attorney allows the individuals you pick to be able to manage your financial obligations when you are unable to do so. This can be anything from making payments on your behalf to planning that will protect your assets and make you eligible for certain kinds of benefits programs in Arkansas. Healthcare Power of Attorney allows the individuals you pick to be able to make health decisions for your care. If something happens to you that leaves you unable to make decisions for yourself these Power of Attorney documents give your loved ones the ability to make the decisions for your care without having to go through the long, expensive court process to get a Guardianship, which is limited not only in the things that can be done but also the speed at which they can be done.  These documents leave you in complete control unless you decide otherwise, or become incapacitated.
